For all of us the day of Christ's resurrection is holy and glad. 

In Chios and especially in Vrontados on such a day every year, revive the custom of the rocket war. 

A custom, which is established of old.

So on the same day, in the night of Resurrection at the parish of Saint Mark and the other of Erithiani, shortly before the priest shares the Holy Light, start the rocket war.

The residents of each parish, elderly and young, gathered all together at the church's yard and fire the rockets, trying to aim the church tower of the "antagonist" parish. 

A festival for all these people who, a whole year make the rockets, but for all of us too, who attend spellbound the colors and the lights on the sky the night of the Resurrection. 

It is a magnificent spectacle and especially for those who go up the mountain Epos to view from high up the rocket war. 

Of course the parishioners has provide for possible damages and fence their houses with wire netting. 

For all that, at the end whoever the winner is, all together celebrate the Christ's resurrection with joy and enthusiasm.
